Apple intends to launch four versions of the iPhone 15, mirroring the sizes of the iPhone 14 models. This will encompass two 6.1-inch variants and two 6.7-inch variants. Within this lineup, there will be a standard iPhone 15 among the 6.1-inch models, while the 6.7-inch category will include an “iPhone 15 Plus.” The remaining 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch options will fall under the higher-tier “Pro” models, potentially carrying a higher price tag compared to previous years. Similar to the iPhone 14/14 Pro arrangement, the most impressive features will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models, justifying the additional cost.
The non-Pro iPhone 15 variants are slated to receive an enhancement with the A16 chip that was previously exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro lineup will be equipped with the swifter and more energy-efficient 3-nanometer A17 chips. Alongside this, the Pro models are anticipated to undergo several upgrades, including the adoption of titanium frames, sleeker bezels, and subtle design tweaks that involve gently curved device edges. Notably, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is also projected to incorporate periscope lens technology, aimed at enriching zoom capabilities for improved photographic experiences.
Rumours circulating thus far indicate that the upcoming iPhone 15 models will feature USB-C ports in place of the Lightning ports, across the entire lineup. Additionally, the Dynamic Island technology is slated to be present not only in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max but also in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Consequently, Apple seems poised to replace the notch, which has been a fixture since the iPhone X, with a more streamlined and less obtrusive design.
As for pricing, it’s anticipated that the iPhone 15 models will maintain their current price points. The base model, a 6.1-inch device, will commence at $799, while the larger 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus will start at $899.
