Valve has revealed that they’ve dispatched another round of invitations for the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, which signifies an expansion of the closed beta access for this upcoming game.
This announcement regarding a fresh wave of invites follows closely on the heels of last week’s news when Valve opened up the Limited Test to a considerably larger segment of the community. In that announcement, Valve disclosed that a significant number of new players were invited to participate in the Limited Test, as long as they met certain fundamental criteria.
To secure an invitation to the Limited Test, it’s essential to maintain Prime status in CS:GO, possess an active skill group, and have the majority of your game history on Valve’s servers within a region where the test is accessible. When these conditions were introduced last week, it stirred frustration among players who predominantly use third-party services like FACEIT, as they often lacked an in-game skill group and, as a result, didn’t qualify for an invitation.
However, with this recent surge of invites, individuals who have achieved a skill rank in the days following the previous invitation wave will now have the opportunity to partake in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test.
To determine if you’ve been granted access to the Limited Test through this recent wave of invitations, simply launch CS:GO. If you’ve been granted access, you’ll encounter a pop-up message on the main menu, indicating your successful entry. Following this, you can proceed to install the Limited Test and embark on your journey to experience the game for the very first time.
Valve is expanding access to CS2 with more invites and has been actively updating the game with four patches in the past week, addressing various aspects like map changes, matchmaking adjustments, and even fixes for unusual issues like cooked chickens. While Valve’s plans can be unpredictable, these actions suggest that a full release may be approaching soon. With ongoing invite waves and frequent patches, it appears the developers are working diligently to address issues and prepare for a launch in the near future.
