The highly anticipated release of the next major shonen anime series is just around the corner! To provide some context, the autumn season is approaching, and in October, we’ll finally get to experience Undead Unluck on the screen. Excitingly, a fresh trailer for the show has recently been released, offering fans their most comprehensive glimpse yet at this ambitious project produced by David Production.
As depicted in the trailer, Undead Unluck ingeniously brings our main protagonists together through a rather improbable sequence of events. We are introduced to Fuuko, the series’ heroine, who grapples with her seemingly perpetual streak of misfortune. When her life takes a turn for the worse, Fuuko reaches a breaking point and contemplates giving up. However, it’s at this very moment that she crosses paths with Andy, whose unexpected encounter profoundly alters the course of her life.
Indeed, Andy possesses a unique power similar to Fuuko’s, although his ability doesn’t curse him with terrible luck. Instead, he is granted immortality, rendering him unable to die. Andy is resolute in his desire for Fuuko to put him in a situation so unfortunate that it will finally lead to his demise. However, their plans take an unexpected turn when they discover that a secretive organization is pursuing them. With this revelation, Fuuko and Andy are compelled to join forces, embarking on a journey to unravel the mysteries behind their perplexing and unfortunate abilities.
For those who may not be familiar with Undead Unluck, this captivating series made its debut in Shonen Jump in January 2020, created by Yoshifumi Tozuka. As an adventure comedy, it continues to release new chapters and has garnered a dedicated fanbase. Now, David Production and TMS Entertainment have teamed up to bring Undead Unluck to life on screen. The anime series is set to premiere exclusively on Hulu starting October 6th. To learn more about the series, you can read its official synopsis below:
