Ahead of its December 4 launch in China, OnePlus has officially showcased the design of the OnePlus 12. The phone resembles its predecessor, featuring a sizable circular camera island dominating the rear.
Notably, OnePlus has significantly altered by relocating the Alert Slider from the right to the left side of the phone. This shift aims to make room for a new integrated antenna, enhancing gaming performance. According to OnePlus, internal testing revealed that the optimal position for gaming antennas is between the user’s forefingers when the phone is held in landscape orientation.
Since this space was previously occupied by the Alert Slider on the OnePlus 11, moving it to the opposite side allows for the deployment of improved gaming antennas on the OnePlus 12. The company employs “ultra-compact full-band antenna technology” and “industry-first Alert Slider antenna integration technology” to minimize the space the Alert Slider uses.
OnePlus asserts that its lab test data indicates a 3dB improvement in the gaming antenna signal and a 15% reduction in-game latency. The company has also unveiled the colour variants of the OnePlus 12, including Pale Green, Rock Black, and White (machine-translated).
Referred to officially as “Flowy Emerald,” the green shade is inspired by nature, and the phone’s material is glass. Furthermore, OnePlus confirms that the OnePlus 12 will feature a 3x periscope camera supported by the “4th-gen Hasselblad Camera for Mobile.”
