Honor has collaborated with the iconic German automaker Porsche to create a unique foldable smartphone, the Magic V2 RSR, infusing it with the essence of a sportscar. This special edition emerges as a standout variant of Honor’s premier foldable device, the Magic V2, renowned for being the slimmest and lightest book-style foldable phone globally.
The design of the Magic V2 RSR draws inspiration from the Porsche 911, with its back cover mimicking the car’s distinctive “flyline.” The camera setup, encased in titanium, echoes the 911’s rounded windshield design. A notable enhancement in this edition is the inclusion of a stylus, compatible with both the phone’s external and internal displays, enriching the user experience.
Distinguishing itself further from the standard Magic V2, the RSR edition boasts a larger storage capacity of 1TB, doubling the base model’s 512GB. Honor has also upgraded the cover screen with an anti-scratch nanocrystal shield, fortified with a silicon nitride layer, making it more resilient against drops and scratches compared to typical nanocrystal glass. Despite these enhancements, the Magic V2 RSR is only marginally heavier than its counterpart, weighing in at 234 grams, a mere 3 grams more.
Beyond these specific differences, the Magic V2 RSR maintains the core specifications of the original Magic V2. It features the robust Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a versatile triple-camera system including a telephoto lens, and a substantial battery supporting 66-watt fast charging. Honour commits to four years of Android software updates and five years of security patches for this device.
The Magic V2 RSR is slated for international release, priced higher than the standard Magic V2, which is available for £1,700 in the UK and 1,999 euros in the EU. This collaboration between Honor and Porsche not only marks a significant step in blending technology with automotive design but also sets a new benchmark for luxury in the foldable smartphone market.
