The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is set to debut in global markets next week, alongside the Galaxy A35 5G. Recent leaks have surfaced, providing insights into the design and potential colour variants of the Galaxy A55. Previous reports suggested that the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A54 would be equipped with an Exynos 1480 chipset, offering up to 8GB of RAM and storage capacities of up to 256GB. The device is also expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
Leaked images, shared by tipster @theonecid on X (formerly Twitter), corroborate earlier renders and rumoured design changes. The yellow colour variant of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G showcases flat sides with a subdued finish, possibly indicating an upgrade to a metallic frame from its predecessor’s plastic construction.
A notable feature of the Galaxy A55 is Samsung’s new key island design element, featuring a raised edge around the right side housing the power and volume buttons. The rear panel mirrors the triple camera setup reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 series.
According to reports, both the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G are expected to be unveiled soon. A teaser for the launch was spotted on the Samsung Shop app, aligning with the leaked specifications.
The Galaxy A55 is anticipated to come in four colours: Black, Blue, Lilac, and Yellow. The marketing names for these colours may vary.
Marketing renders confirm previous leaks regarding the camera setup, with the Galaxy A55 possibly featuring a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, it could boast a 32MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy A35 may also sport similar colours and a camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. It might feature a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and a 5,000mAh battery with some level of water resistance.
Reportedly, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G will come with a 6.6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display, powered by an Exynos 1480 SoC. RAM options include 6GB and 8GB, with storage ranging from 128GB to 256GB. The device is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), while details about the other two cameras remain undisclosed. For selfies and video calls, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera is expected.
