OpenAI recently announced the release of GPT-4 Turbo to its paid ChatGPT subscribers. The announcement, made on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted the enhancements in the model’s capabilities, including improved mathematical, logical reasoning, coding, and writing skills. Specifically, it was noted that GPT-4 Turbo will produce more concise, conversational, and direct responses in writing.
In December, the integration of GPT-4 Turbo with Microsoft’s CoPilot AI chatbot and the image generator DALL-E 3 was completed, expanding its utility.
When initially introduced in November, OpenAI showcased significant advancements in GPT-4 Turbo, which now allows for processing up to 300 pages of text—six times more than the earlier 50-page limit. This increase enables the handling of more complex prompts and intricate responses. The updated model also supports generating image captions or descriptions and fulfilling text-to-speech requests.
Since its initial release, the knowledge base of GPT-4 Turbo has been updated to include information up to December 2023, an extension from the previous version’s cutoff in April 2023.
