The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is launching its Young Experts Program (YEP), a unique initiative designed to nurture the future leaders of global Intellectual Property (IP). Aimed at upskilling young professionals, this two-year program offers participants an unparalleled opportunity to work directly on WIPO’s diverse initiatives, gaining insights into both the technical and strategic dimensions of IP.
The YEP is not merely a stepping stone into WIPO but a leadership program intended to empower participants to drive innovation in their respective regions. Over the course of the program, 10 selected individuals will engage in projects that could significantly influence economic growth in their home countries and beyond.
Program Details and Expectations
Participants in the YEP will benefit from a wide range of experiences designed to deepen their understanding of IP and its role in fostering innovation. However, the program is explicitly not a direct pathway to employment within WIPO. Those selected will be ineligible to apply for WIPO positions during the program and for two years following its conclusion, ensuring that the knowledge and skills they acquire are applied in their home regions rather than within the organization.
