Belgrade, Serbia – Serbian startup Collabwriting, a pioneering collaborative research platform, has successfully raised €1.1 million in funding. The investment round was led by SMOK Ventures as part of the How to Web syndicate, with participation from Underline Ventures, Credo, Fiedler, Fortech, Startup Wise Guys, V7 Capital, and angel investor Xenia Muntean from Planable. Additionally, the round was bolstered by a €300,000 grant from the Katapult Accelerator, supported by the World Bank.
A Platform for Collaborative Knowledge Sharing
Founded in 2021 by Sandra Idjoski and Ivan Ralic, Collabwriting aims to transform how users collect, organize, and collaborate on key knowledge. The platform creates a dynamic environment where insights and data are readily accessible to users whenever needed.
The inspiration behind Collabwriting came from the founders’ previous experience working together at a startup, where Ivan served as a co-founder and Sandra led the marketing team. Their daily activities involved collecting and analyzing vast amounts of information from various online resources, which sparked the idea for a platform that could streamline this process.
Leveraging New Funding for Growth and Innovation
The new funding will be instrumental in further developing Collabwriting for Teams, expanding their current team, and growing their user base. The company also plans to incorporate new AI features that will enhance the platform’s capabilities, making knowledge sharing and collaboration even more efficient.
Founders’ Vision and Impact
Reflecting on the recent investment, Sandra Idjoski, CEO and co-founder, expressed her gratitude for the support received during the How to Web event. “Being a part of How to Web last year was an amazing experience. We came with the expectation of kickstarting our fundraising journey and left with a community of dedicated investors ready to help us grow and scale,” she said.
She also highlighted the importance of the Katapult Accelerator program, stating, “Katapult’s acceleration program has already helped us with mentoring and guidance, while the additional financial boost will make us even more competitive.”
Ivan Ralic, CTO and co-founder, shared insights into the company’s mission, emphasizing the platform’s unique approach to knowledge management. “The way we store, optimize, and structure knowledge with Collabwriting is what’s going to be a game changer for breaking down all the barriers when it comes to how accessible and reusable knowledge is. While this space is full of generative AI solutions that can only summarize what’s already out there, we’re laser-focused on enabling our customers to transform the information they found into unique insights, giving them the upper hand in their fields of work.”
Investor’s Perspective on the Future
Diana Koziarska, Founding Partner at SMOK Ventures, praised Collabwriting’s innovative approach to collaborative research. “Collabwriting is revolutionizing the approach to collaborative research by harnessing their technical skills, leveraging them via industry insights, and spot-on execution. In a world overloaded with information, where how we manage, access, and use our knowledge with precision is becoming more and more chaotic and important, this can be a game changer in how we operate,” she stated.
Looking Ahead
With this new funding, Collabwriting is poised to further disrupt the collaborative research space, making knowledge sharing more accessible and effective for users across industries. The company’s focus on transforming information into actionable insights sets it apart in a crowded market, positioning it as a leader in the evolving field of knowledge management.
