Zagreb, Croatia, October 2024 – ACG, a global leader in oral dosage solutions, is set to make a significant impact in Europe by expanding its operations in Croatia. The company’s latest move involves substantial upgrades to its Croatian facilities, including increased production capacity at ACG Capsules and the opening of new warehousing and slitting facilities by the ACG Packaging Materials division. This expansion strengthens ACG’s ability to meet the growing demands of European customers while optimizing supply chains across the region.
Strategic Expansion in Europe
Since acquiring Croatia’s Lukaps capsule shell manufacturing plant in 2007, ACG has invested over 50 million euros to bring the facility to world-class standards. The current expansion, which is set to be completed by the end of 2024, has already increased the site’s production capacity by more than 80% over the past year. This investment underscores ACG’s commitment to the European market, as the company works to enhance both production and logistics capabilities.
Selwyn Noronha, CEO of ACG Capsules, described the expansion as a critical part of the company’s European strategy:
“The expansion of our Croatian facility marks a pivotal moment in our European strategy. By boosting production and logistics capabilities, we are not only improving lead times but also contributing to the local economy by creating new job opportunities.”
New Warehousing Facilities for Faster Market Response
In addition to increasing production, ACG Packaging Materials is launching new warehousing and slitting facilities in Croatia. These new logistics hubs will improve agility and allow ACG to respond to market demands with shorter lead times and greater flexibility. The warehouse is set to be fully operational by November 2024, streamlining the company’s ability to serve customers more efficiently.
SR Shivshankar, CEO of ACG Packaging Materials, noted the importance of the new warehouse:
“The opening of our new warehouse in Croatia is a crucial step in increasing our agility and better serving our European customers. We are excited for the facility to be fully operational by November 2024.”
Sustainability and Local Impact
As part of the expansion, ACG is committed to replicating its sustainability initiatives at the Croatian facility. The company aims to not only improve its manufacturing standards but also contribute positively to the environment and the local economy by creating new job opportunities. The Croatian site now stands as a model of global manufacturing standards, ensuring that ACG’s operations benefit the communities they serve.
