As preparations for the 2025 BalCannes competition gear up, the BalCannes Expert Council – Advisory Body has been assembled to oversee the planning and organization process. The council’s primary responsibility is to ensure the continuous alignment of BalCannes with the evolving needs of the industry and markets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia.

Focused Discussions and Planning
The council will play a pivotal role in shaping the competition groups, categories, and jury selection. During their first meeting, the Organizing Committee provided an overview of the previous year’s successes and future plans, while the Expert Council offered valuable feedback, suggestions, and ideas for enhancing BalCannes.
A Platform for Business and Creativity
BalCannes is recognized not only as a competitive event but also as an invaluable platform for building business connections across the region. According to Davor Bruketa, a member of the Organizing Committee, BalCannes is an opportunity to catch the attention of important regional clients:
“For us, BalCannes is primarily an opportunity to make new business contacts, and only then a competitive event. Some of the most important clients from all over the region sit in the jury, and it often happens that some of our projects catch their eye, regardless of the competition’s final outcome. That is why we also submit projects that may not be typical ‘festival material,’ but which effectively showcase the breadth and diversity of our expertise.”
Celebrating Regional Excellence
Following the announcement of the winners on the prestigious Rovinj stage at the Days of Communication, the BalCannes Report will be published. The second annual report, titled BALCANNES MOSAIC CREATIVITY, will feature rankings of the best projects, advertisers, and agencies from across the region, along with data from all competitive countries.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Applications for the 2025 BalCannes competition will open in the autumn, offering agencies the chance to compete for gold, silver, and bronze awards. The winners will be announced during the Days of Communication, scheduled to take place from May 15 to 18, 2025.
