As anticipation builds for next year’s Galaxy S series, rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S25 have already begun to circulate online. Despite the Galaxy S24 series’ recent launch in January, comprising the standard model, Galaxy S24+, and the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra, enthusiasts and analysts are eagerly looking ahead. Recent leaks have provided new insights into the battery specifications of the upcoming Galaxy S25.
GalaxyClub reports that the Samsung Galaxy S25 will feature a 4,000mAh battery, consistent with the current-generation Galaxy S24 model. The leaked information suggests that the Galaxy S25’s battery will have a rated capacity of 3,881mAh, which translates to an advertised typical capacity of 4,000mAh. Additionally, the report indicates that Samsung has registered the name “Galaxy S25” in Mexico to protect the brand, and the handset is expected to carry the SM-S931 model number.
Samsung’s battery upgrades on previous Galaxy S series phones
Over the years, the battery capacities of Galaxy S series smartphones have seen several changes. The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 models both featured a 4,000mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy S22 came with a smaller 3,700mAh battery. In January 2023, Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 with a 3,900mAh battery. The recently released Galaxy S24 saw an increase, boasting a 4,000mAh battery.
Despite expectations for a further increase in battery capacity for the Galaxy S25, the report suggests that the upcoming model will maintain the 4,000mAh capacity. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra models are equipped with larger 4,900mAh and 5,000mAh battery units, respectively.
What to expect from the Galaxy S25
While the Samsung Galaxy S25 is not expected to debut for several months, it is recommended to take these details with a grain of salt. Based on Samsung’s historical launch schedules, the Galaxy S25 lineup could be announced in January 2025. The vanilla model is rumoured to come with a larger 6.36-inch display compared to the existing 6.2-inch screen. Additionally, it is likely to run on the Exynos 2500 chipset in all markets. Another significant change could be the shift from ISOCELL sensors to Sony image sensors as the main camera on both the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+.
