Zagreb-based company INsig2, a global leader in digital forensics, has secured a significant €7 million, four-year contract to provide advanced training for police investigators across Europe in digital forensics. The contract was awarded through the European Commission’s Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) as part of the Union Anti-Fraud Program (UAFP).
INsig2, in partnership with Ventex from Rijeka and TMD Travel from Zagreb, won the contract after successfully competing in an international tender. The consortium will be responsible for training European investigators in cutting-edge digital forensics and operational analytics, helping law enforcement agencies across the EU and globally stay ahead of cybercriminals.
Advanced Training for Investigators
Under the new contract, INsig2 will offer comprehensive educational programs to European police forces, equipping them with the latest tools and skills in digital forensics. The training programs, starting in November 2024, will cover a broad spectrum of forensic topics, including:
- Investigations of Windows, Mac, and Linux computers
- Mobile and smartphone forensics
- Network and internet forensics
- Drone forensics
- Analysis of encrypted data
- Financial fraud prevention
- Big data analytics and open-source intelligence
Each training session will host around 120 investigators from EU member states and other countries benefiting from EU-funded projects. The courses will take place across different EU locations, with INsig2 and its partners managing the entire logistical process, from classroom setup to participant accommodation and travel.
A Legacy of Excellence
This latest contract marks the third time INsig2 has been awarded a major contract from OLAF. The company first won a similar contract in 2013, followed by another in 2018. Over the past decade, around 2,000 investigators from 50 countries have participated in INsig2’s training programs.
“Winning this contract for the third time is a testament to our commitment to excellence in the field of digital forensics and criminal analytics,” said Goran Oparnica, Director of INsig2. “Our team, largely made up of Croatian experts, is proud to be at the forefront of educating European investigators and contributing to the fight against cybercrime.”
Global Impact
INsig2’s achievements have positioned the company as a global player in the digital forensics sector. In addition to its educational efforts, the firm is involved in equipping digital forensic laboratories worldwide and executing complex projects in forensic analysis and cybersecurity.
This latest contract further cements INsig2’s role as a key player in the European Union’s efforts to combat fraud and cybercrime, as it continues to expand its expertise and reach across Europe and beyond.
