Meta’s forthcoming edit feature for Threads may allow users to make changes to their posts within a five-minute window after posting them. Developer Alessandro Paluzzi shared this information on X (formerly Twitter). Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, had already mentioned the possibility of an edit button shortly after the app’s July release. Now, with Paluzzi revealing some specifics about it, there is hope that this feature will become accessible to a broader audience in the near future.
The absence of an edit button has been a notable gap in Threads, and I’m pleased to see this piece of information suggesting that Meta may be moving closer to actually introducing it. Unfortunately, Meta did not respond immediately when reached out for details on potential timing. Nevertheless, I’m optimistic that we might see the edit button sooner rather than later. Over the past couple of months since the app’s launch, Meta has addressed some of the more straightforward issues, such as introducing a following feed, a web client, and the ability to search for posts.
Additionally, Meta is now introducing a feature that allows users to switch between Threads profiles on mobile by long-pressing the profile tab, as announced by Mosseri on Thursday.
