Belgrade, October 2024 – Detachless, a domestic startup, has launched a groundbreaking tool that allows designers to convert their Figma designs into fully functional websites without typing a single line of code. This innovative solution aims to streamline the design-to-development process, saving time and reducing the need for developers.
The tool is designed for designers and teams who want to avoid the repetitive task of transforming designs into code. With just a few clicks, users can transfer their Figma designs directly to the web or export them as finished code, making the development process faster and more efficient.
In an era where there is a growing demand for quick and efficient web development, Detachless promises to reduce the time it takes to transition from design to a live website. Since the tool integrates directly within Figma, it eliminates the need for switching between different platforms or involving multiple developers.
The Creation of Detachless
Detachless was founded by Lazar Krstic, a serial entrepreneur with three successful exits from previous ventures. After months of development, he was joined by technical co-founders Lazar Bulic and Uroš Raković. Lazar’s entrepreneurial journey includes building businesses in e-commerce, such as Ultras Design and Traditionalism, both of which were successfully acquired. He also founded Sports Wall, which continues under new management.
The inspiration for Detachless came from Lazar’s experience as both a designer and entrepreneur, where he identified the pain point of transforming designs into code. Through extensive research, the team crystallized the idea into a product that addresses the needs of web designers using Figma, and potentially other no-code tools like Webflow and Framer.
Streamlining the Development Process
Detachless eliminates the need for developers to build each page, which results in significant time and cost savings for businesses. Lazar explains how agencies can now shorten their development cycles:
“Imagine a UI designer in an agency who typically takes 7 days to design a landing page and then adds another 7 days for development. With Detachless, the development stage can be completely eliminated, allowing the designer to have full control over the entire process.”
By focusing on marketing agencies that produce a large number of landing pages for campaigns, Detachless enables them to reduce costs and simplify internal processes by cutting down on the number of tools they need to use.
Competing in the No-Code Market
Detachless considers its main competitors to be the leading no-code platforms, such as Webflow and Framer, but the team sees their tool’s simplified user experience as a key differentiator. The tool operates within a single Figma window, streamlining the process for users.
Detachless is currently funded through self-financing, but the team plans to seek external capital in the coming months to accelerate development and stay ahead of competition in the fast-moving no-code market.
“We are preparing for investment because the industry evolves quickly. We need to grow rapidly to stay competitive and ensure a larger player doesn’t outpace us.”
Addressing Potential Risks
One of the major risks Detachless faces is if Figma develops a similar tool as part of its core product. Lazar and his team have been aware of this possibility from the start and are closely monitoring Figma’s developments.
“We’ve been asked many times, ‘What if Figma does the same?‘ It’s a valid question. While we’re prepared for that, we’re focused on improving our product so we can continue to offer value even if Figma develops a competing tool.”
Detachless also aims to expand beyond its Figma tool, envisioning a broader platform in the no-code space.
The Role of Generative AI
Generative AI is another factor that is transforming the design industry. While Detachless has not yet integrated AI into its core product, the team has developed an AI tool that helps designers during the early stages of website development. This custom GPT tool can generate site maps and even assist with writing content based on simple prompts.
Although AI is not yet the primary focus for Detachless, the team is exploring ways to incorporate it into future products to further enhance the design process.
Free to Use
Currently, the Detachless tool is free to use, and designers can connect it to their Figma accounts with just a few clicks. If you’re a designer looking to speed up your workflow or a developer who wants to simplify the process of building websites, Detachless offers a powerful, easy-to-use solution.
