Tesla has officially introduced an upgraded and redesigned version of its popular Model 3 in Europe, which was previously known under the codename “Highland.” This new iteration of the Model 3 brings several notable improvements, including changes to both its exterior and interior, enhanced aerodynamics, and increased driving range.
One of the most prominent exterior alterations is the removal of the front bump, replaced with a more streamlined and sleek design featuring a single central vent. Additionally, the headlights have been redesigned to appear slimmer, reminiscent of Audi’s LED daytime running lights.
While the sides of the car remain largely unchanged, Tesla is offering new alloy wheel designs, including 18- and 19-inch options. At the rear, the taillights have been updated to a unified design, departing from the previous split configuration. The rear bumper has also undergone a redesign, with integrated fog lights. Two new paint options have been introduced as well: a red hue reminiscent of the Model S and a “stealth grey” choice.
These exterior modifications not only enhance the vehicle’s aesthetics but also contribute to improved aerodynamics, resulting in a reported range increase of over 10 per cent. As a result, the rear-wheel-drive version of the Model 3 now boasts a WLTP-rated range of 344 miles, while the long-range model achieves an impressive 421 miles on a single charge.
Tesla has not neglected the Model 3’s ride quality, implementing updated suspension tuning and reinforcing the vehicle’s body for a smoother driving experience. The company is also focused on reducing interior noise and extending acoustic glass to the rear windows and rear windows.
The infotainment system has also received upgrades, featuring a brighter and more responsive screen. Passengers can now control the air system, and Tesla has improved Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The audio system has been enhanced as well, boasting 17 speakers compared to the previous model’s 14. For rear-seat passengers, a notable addition is an 8-inch screen offering access to adjustable climate controls, music, and popular entertainment apps such as Netflix, YouTube, and Disney Plus.
Inside the cabin, significant changes are evident. A new dashboard design features LED lighting and a customizable panel. The steering wheel has been revised, with indicator controls now implemented as buttons rather than traditional stalks.
European customers can anticipate deliveries to commence in October, with select countries in the Middle East also included. However, Tesla has not yet announced availability in North America or the UK. The starting price for the upgraded Model 3 is €42,990 for the rear-wheel-drive version and €50,990 for the long-range variant. Tesla enthusiasts and prospective buyers can look forward to an enhanced driving experience with these exciting updates to the Model 3.
