The highly anticipated action film The Union, which was filmed in Croatia, has just been released on Netflix. As of Friday, 16th August, viewers can enjoy this action-packed spy thriller, starring Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry.
The Union was shot in the stunning region of Istria, Croatia during the autumn of 2022. The production was facilitated by PAKT Media, with Diego Zanco serving as the operational producer. The extensive film crew spent 14 days filming on location, utilizing the beautiful landscapes and unique architecture of Istria.
Out of the 701 crew members involved in the production, 262 were Croatian film professionals, showcasing the country’s growing reputation as a prime filming destination. Additionally, the production hired 19 trainees and 72 extras, providing valuable experience and opportunities for local talent.
The filming in Croatia was supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre’s (HAVC) incentive programme – Filming in Croatia. This initiative has played a significant role in attracting international film productions to the country. Some of the picturesque locations in Istria where the movie was shot can already be spotted in the film’s trailer, hinting at the stunning visuals that viewers can expect.
In The Union, Mark Wahlberg plays Mike, an ordinary construction worker who is unexpectedly recruited by his high school love, Roxanne (Halle Berry), into an American intelligence mission. This thrusts him into the high-stakes world of super spies and secret agents. The Union is available for streaming on Netflix as of 16th August.
