A “small section” of what seems to be GTA VI’s open-world map has surfaced online, and fans are astounded by the leaked map’s sheer scale. While it’s widely known that GTA VI is in development as a massive game, prior gameplay leaks have already hinted at the immense size of the game’s open world, teeming with activities. However, this leaked map provides the clearest insight into the game’s expansive scope and ambitious design to date.
The leaked map originally surfaced on Reddit and seemed to have originated from gameplay leaks from the previous year. The fact that Reddit’s legal team removed the original post strongly suggests its authenticity. In the now-deleted images, we could see an unidentified character standing in what appeared to be a factory yard, followed by a glimpse of the game’s map. Fans wasted no time scrutinizing these images for hidden details.
According to Reddit users, the map seemed to depict an area resembling the Sebring Raceway, with elements like factories, residential areas, roads, and countryside. In essence, if this was just a “small portion,” then the complete map must be incredibly extensive.
“OMG, this map is gonna be huge,” one fan exclaimed. Another GTA player added, “It’s already 1.5 times bigger, and the map doesn’t end here. I think it’s gonna be even bigger than 1.5 times. Hell, we don’t have any idea how far north the map extends.”
A third Reddit commenter suggested, “And the fact that the new map is very left-oriented suggests to me that either they didn’t make it centered, or there’s another land mass somewhere approximately southwest in the direction of the Bahamas. The entire bottom right square is just water, which is very strange for any Rockstar map.”
While this particular portion of the map seems to have been scrubbed from the internet, the excitement fans felt upon seeing it has not diminished. As of the latest update, GTA VI is aiming to launch by March 2025 at the latest, so hopefully, we’ll hear more about the upcoming game soon.
