Observant users browsing Samsung’s Argentinian website made an intriguing discovery: an unexpected product page showcasing the upcoming Galaxy Buds FE earbuds, alongside visuals of a Galaxy S23 FE smartphone and a Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablet. Notably, one of the smartphone images features the date October 4, possibly hinting at an announcement or release date.
The company hasn’t disclosed any specifications for the phone and tablet thus far. Nevertheless, the names Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE were apparently identified on the page. This marks a nearly formal announcement from Samsung, albeit without an official press release or an Unpacked event.
The now-removed product page did provide some insights into the Galaxy Buds FE, which are Samsung’s inaugural Fan Edition earbuds. These earbuds are expected to feature a single 12mm driver, with each earbud equipped with three microphones to enhance the active noise cancellation capability and a three-way speaker system.
Samsung’s Fan Edition devices have consistently garnered popularity over the years, known for offering robust features at a more affordable price point compared to the company’s flagship models. It’s reasonable to assume that a significant number of consumers are eagerly anticipating the release of this year’s FE devices.
While the leak seems to have occurred unintentionally, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Samsung intentionally revealed its latest FE products before an official announcement. In the competitive landscape of major hardware companies vying for consumer attention, especially around this time of the year, strategic teasers and early glimpses are not uncommon. Just prior to Apple’s recent unveiling of the iPhone 15 lineup, Google had already dropped hints about its upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel Watch 2 devices, even though Google’s Pixel event isn’t scheduled until October. Therefore, it’s conceivable that Samsung may have intentionally sought headlines by orchestrating this leak.
The more plausible scenario is that this was yet another accidental mishap on the part of the company. While it might not be as significant or detrimental as the recent massive Xbox leak that occurred earlier this week, one would expect Samsung to exercise more caution and precision given its track record and experience in the industry.
