Samsung Galaxy S23 users are currently anticipating the One UI 6.1 update, which is set to introduce Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features to not only the Galaxy S23, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series but might also extend to older flagship models.
During Samsung’s 55th Annual General Meeting in Korea, the company’s mobile division chief, TM Roh, mentioned that Samsung is exploring possibilities to incorporate Galaxy AI into the Galaxy S22 series. Despite potential hardware limitations in the 2022 flagships for some AI functionalities, the combination of on-device and on-cloud processing could allow for introducing new AI features through software updates alone.
However, it’s important to note that Roh did not confirm these plans, leaving open the possibility that Samsung may not follow through.
In additional news, Roh disclosed Samsung’s interest in developing rollable and slidable form factors as future innovations beyond its current foldable devices. This interest has been evident through various concepts showcased by Samsung Display, indicating a focus on assessing the market readiness for such technologies and securing the necessary patents for their development.
