This year’s Infobip Shift conference, the largest developer gathering in Eastern Europe, concluded on a high note in Zadar, breaking previous records with more than 5,500 attendees over three days. The event, known for its cutting-edge discussions on software development and the startup ecosystem, hosted 125 speakers who led lectures, workshops, and panels on the latest industry trends.
The conference kicked off on September 15 with informal networking events across three key locations in Zadar, followed by two days of activities at the Višnjik School, where Infobip Shift transformed the 15,000 m² sports complex into a spectacular tech venue. The event was officially opened by Izabel Jelenić, co-founder and CTO of Infobip, who emphasized the growing global significance of the conference.
“The increasing number of attendees and speakers year after year highlights Infobip Shift’s expanding importance within the global technology community,” Jelenić said. “This year’s high-quality lectures and expert discussions from various fields have provided our attendees with the opportunity to significantly enhance their knowledge and skills.”
Keynote speakers and experts from major tech companies, including Microsoft, Google, and AWS, along with telecommunications giants like Nokia, Orange, Deutsche Telekom, and Telefonica, participated. Prominent domestic technology leaders such as Sofascore, Rimac Automobili, and Reversing Labs also shared their insights, covering critical topics like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software engineering.
Nikola Radišić, team leader of Infobip Shift, noted the global reach of the event, with participants from over 40 countries and five continents. “From the United States to Norway, Nigeria, Hong Kong, and Australia, developers from across the globe joined us. Notably, more than 770 companies were represented, providing ample opportunities for new connections, projects, and collaborations,” Radišić said.
In addition to the main sessions, the conference featured a startup stage, where entrepreneurs, professors, and scientists discussed emerging innovations, and startups had the chance to present their ideas to potential investors.
This year’s Zadar edition followed the successful US version of the conference, held in Miami five months earlier. Nikola Pavešić, Infobip’s Director of Development Experience and Startups, announced that Infobip Shift will return to the United States in 2025 and revealed plans for a significant expansion into Asia, a continent with the largest number of developers worldwide.
“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Shift in Zadar, which set new records for both the number of speakers and attendees. However, we are already looking ahead to the next editions, with a return to the US and plans to launch a conference in Asia, which will allow us to engage with even more developers and innovators,” Pavešić said.
With its growing global presence, Infobip Shift is solidifying its status as a premier event in the technology world, driving forward innovation and collaboration in the developer community.
